Frequently asked questions
Everything you need to know about Newphonia — your subscriptions, your account, your data and broadcasting music fully legally.
Plans & pricing
What is the difference between the free plan and paid plans?
The free plan gives you access to the music catalogue, funded by advertising messages. Paid plans remove advertising and unlock all features of your plan. All plans are offered with no minimum commitment.
What plans do you offer?
Newphonia offers a free plan with advertising, paid plans for Individuals and dedicated plans for Businesses (shops, venues). Details and pricing for each plan are shown on the Plans page at the time of subscription.
Is there a free trial period?
A free trial is offered only for the Signature plan at €24.90. Other paid plans do not include a free trial. You can also use the free plan with advertising for as long as you like.
Can I change plans at any time?
Yes. As subscriptions have no minimum commitment, you can change plans from your account area. The new price is applied on a pro-rata basis at the last billing cycle.
Account
Do I need to create an account to use Newphonia?
Yes, access to the service requires creating an account. You provide your first name, last name, email address and mobile number; business users also add their company information (legal name, address, SIREN).
How do I protect access to my account?
Your login details are personal and confidential: do not share them. If you notice unusual activity, change your password and contact us immediately so we can secure your account.
I run a shop: can I create a business account?
Business Yes. When registering, choose the business path and enter your company information. You must be authorised to bind the company you represent.
I have several stores: can I use the same account?
Business One music stream is linked to one store. To use Newphonia in a second store under the same Admin account, simply add a location — an additional user for €9.90.
Usage
Can I create my own music?
No. Music is already available in the catalogue, with new tracks added every month.
Can I build my own playlists?
Yes. Your liked tracks playlist is personal to each account. Several playlists are already available, and you can also create your own — privately, publicly, or per business entity so all stores linked to the account can benefit.
Can I listen to well-known tracks?
No. You will not find any tracks known from other music streaming platforms.
How do audio capsules and announcements work?
Business With the Signature plan, you can create and schedule recurring announcements: enter your message, then choose the tone and voice of the announcer. These announcements are for internal, private or professional use across stores of the same brand.
Payment & cancellation
How does subscription payment work?
Paid subscriptions are paid by credit card through a secure payment provider. The amount is automatically charged at each billing cycle (monthly or annual depending on the plan) until cancellation.
How do I cancel my subscription?
You can cancel at any time directly from your account area in just a few clicks. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period already paid; you can then continue with the free plan with advertising.
Can I withdraw after subscribing?
Individuals As a consumer, you have a 14-day right of withdrawal. If you request immediate access to the service, you may waive this period; if you withdraw, only the portion of the service already provided remains due. The right of withdrawal does not apply to business customers.
What happens if a payment fails?
If a charge fails, we notify you so you can update your payment method. Access to paid features may be suspended until the situation is resolved.
Music & broadcasting rights
Am I allowed to play this music in my shop?
Business Yes. You are not subject to SACEM or SPRE: music broadcast via Newphonia is royalty-free, with no copyright or neighbouring rights to pay.
Does Newphonia pay SACEM on my behalf?
There is nothing to pay: Newphonia broadcasts royalty-free music, so there are no SACEM or SPRE fees for this broadcast.
Can you help me with SACEM procedures?
Business If you provide your full company information and your SACEM number, we handle cancellation procedures with SACEM. In this context, we process your company information solely to provide this service. Contact us to find out more.
What about strictly private use at home?
Individuals Yes, this is possible with both Individual plans. As the music is royalty-free, you can enjoy it without any additional steps.
Personal data
What data do you collect about me?
To manage your account and customer relationship, we collect your first name, last name, email address and mobile number. For business users, we also collect company information (legal name, address, SIREN), including for SACEM procedures when you request them.
How do I exercise my data rights?
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability under the GDPR. To exercise them, contact us via the details in our privacy policy. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).
Is my data shared or sold?
Your data is not sold. It is accessible to our authorised teams and technical providers, strictly to the extent necessary for the service to operate, and retained for the duration of the contractual relationship and applicable legal periods.
